… The venue (Gothia Towers) was perfect. Very professional and personal. A very convenient atmosphere. The congress was very successful due to the venue and the city. The participants loved the city. Gothenborg is very relaxed, clean, offers many good restaurants and the people are nice and friendly.

I just wanted to check in with you after our event last week and give you an official “thank you” from our side. Ellis EVENTS has been in business for almost 30 years now and we have worked with many different venues and hotels and I have to say it is rare to come along a team that is as good as yours. Always ready to help, very organized, very professional, solution oriented and just all around a great group of people to work with. This goes for all the departments we worked with, catering, people sourcing, furniture, security and venue services. Furthermore a big thank you to you personally and the project management team we highly appreciate all the work done both before the event and onsite.

“Last week I was in Göteborg, running an event at the Gothia Towers Hotel with my High 5 colleague Michelle Mantle.
As an Event Manager, I think it’s so important to highlight fantastic service and I can’t praise the staff at the Gothia Towers Hotel highly enough.
Before I had even left the luggage hall at the airport, I received a phone call from Louise Antonsson (Reservations Agent Groups & Events), to introduce herself and ask what time I would like to meet her to run through our event, we agreed we would meet at 14:00 in the hotel lobby. In 16 years of event management, I can honestly say I haven’t received such slick service.
When we arrived at the hotel, we saw three people sat in an open seating area in the lobby, by the numerous lifts that take you to the three different towers. Before we could even think to look around to find someone to ask which lift goes to ‘Imagine’ our venue for the evening, Sam Sultanovic the hotels Director of Corporate Sales, immediately jumped up from his meeting to offer us assistance. He had no idea that we were Event Managers, which just goes to show the level of service the hotel offers to each and every guest. We ended up having a lovely chat and then Louise arrived to take us up to our meeting space at 14:00 on the dot!”

What: Chef of the Year 2015. The official Swedish championship for professional cooking. Around 3,000 visitors at the competition and exhibition during the daytime. 900 people at the banquet and nightclub in the evening.
When: 5 February 2015.
“The final of Chef of the Year 2015, the official Swedish championship for professional cooking, was held on 5 February 2015 at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and Gothia Towers. We have 32 years of experience of running heats and finals at many different locations around Sweden.
A final is an extremely complex operation.
During the final, we had seminars for around 250 visitors, a food market where sponsors showcase their products and prepare food, a final with eight finalists, masters of ceremonies, live streaming, TV production, journalists and photographers, a VIP lunch, a banquet for around 850 guests including entertainment, an after-party/nightclub, and the most discerning guests imaginable when it comes to dining and service.
Altogether, there were around 4,000 visitors.
Chef of the Year is a small organisation based in Stockholm.
The Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and Gothia Towers far exceeded our expectations. The staff are extremely professional and extraordinarily solution-oriented. The food and the service were fantastic. Almost everything had been well prepared in advance, and the few problems that cropped up were dealt with quickly and smoothly. “In 2013, the Swedish Association of Registered Physiotherapists decided to hold its Physiotherapist Days outside Stockholm for the first time. The venue chosen was Gothia Towers/the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg. This is a major three-day event, with more than 1,700 participants, around 70 exhibitors, nine parallel scientific programmes, coffee/lunch/coffee, an evening gathering and an evening meal.
We were thoroughly pleased with Gothia Towers/the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and their fantastic premises, as well as their staff – particularly the project team, with whom we worked in the run-up to the event. “On 5-8 June 2013, Universeum and Ecsite (the European Network of Science Centres and Museums) arranged an annual conference, bringing together more than 1,000 professionals from science centres, museums of natural history, aquariums and zoos from all around the world, to discuss the latest developments within scientific communication. Our cooperation with Gothia Towers/the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre worked extremely well, and we felt that we were in safe hands during both the preparations and the actual conference. We were delighted to read the participants’ comments about everything from arrival to the food – they were very pleased indeed! For example, the lunches were graded “Excellent” by 66% of participants – the highest score ever!”

“The Swedish Dental Hygienist Association arranges Dental Hygienist Days each year. In 2011 we held the event at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and Hotel Gothia Towers in Gothenburg for the third time. Although our concept was similar on all occasions, the event was perceived as varied, both by participants and our organisers. In no small fashion this was due to the professionalism of the people we deal with in Gothenburg.
On each occasion we were offered very good and varied suggestions for entertainment and catering. In fact, the offers covered such a wide spectrum that we felt that there was something for everyone.

Their responses are fast and they always manage to supply food and organise coffee breaks, even when the number of delegates increases without notice.

“Every year for more than 50 years, Volvo has organised a Long Service Party, a festive occasion to honour all the employees who have been with the company for 25, 35 or 45 years. It’s known in-house as the ‘Little Nobel Banquet’. We’ve held these parties for many years at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre, which always serves very good food and drink for a thousand people. The fact that the food is also hot is a feat in itself and very much appreciated by our guests. And it’s both impressive and entertaining to see how all the waiting-on staff work as a team!

“We’ve worked with Gothia Towers for many years on a lounge concept, where Swedish master chef Leif Mannerström has inspired the choice of menu!
Four days every year, we’ve provided a varied and tasty lunch for friends and customers during the Book Fair. We’ve added an oyster bar, whisky tasting, pocket galas, etc. in the afternoons at the fair. During those few days we’ve served a total of about 1,600 people, had lots of fun and have met with professionalism, excellent cooperation and smooth-running and flexible implementation.
We’re particularly impressed by the way so many lunches were provided in such a short space of time, and the way the guests were made to feel welcome and looked after. You could say that they walked in and danced out!”
